Photo managemenet under linux ok, but on 2 different computers?

F-spot, spotlight and picasa are nice and full-featured programs. But they have their own databases, and it is difficult already to share the same database on the same computer between two users. But with two users on different computers and rsync, it is impossible.

So we stick to good old gthumb. Which is nice, but can't upload photos to webalbums.

So I wrote a small aplication which takes the photos to upload on the command line. It logs into google webalbums, then retrieves the existing webalbums and lets you choose the one where you want to store the photos. Upon “Start” it uploads the photos to the selected album.

To get a bit automation with gthumb, you can define the program as a keystroke, as in this example.
